According to WinFuture, Samsung may be adding its first-ever “Ultra” model to its next Galaxy Tab S8 portfolio, which will also include a Tab S8 and S8 Plus.
The flagship Ultra model, according to WinFuture, might include a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2960 x 1848px, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a notch with two 12-megapixel (MP) sensors. It could also include up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, as well as a 11200mAh battery.
The Tab S8 Plus’ Super AMOLED display is slightly smaller than the Tab S8 Ultra’s, perhaps measuring 12.7 inches with a resolution of 2800 x 1752px. According to WinFuture, the midgrade variant may not feature a notch and may have a battery capacity of 10090mAh. The cheapest Tab S8 model is expected to include an 11-inch LTPS TFT display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600px, a notch-free design, and an 8000mAh battery. The Tab S8 and S8 Plus both feature reduced memory and storage options, with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage available.
According to WinFuture, each tablet in Samsung’s upcoming lineup could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor and the Adreno 730 GPU. All models will have a 13MP dual camera on the back and a 6MP super wide-angle lens on the front (except the Ultra, which has two), S-Pen compatibility, under-display fingerprint scanners, optional 5G connectivity, and quad speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
There isn’t any definite pricing information for the S8 Tabs just yet, but a leak from Appuals could give us an idea. The Wi-Fi-only Tab S8 Ultra, according to Appuals, starts at 1,040€ to 1,060€ ($1,187 to $1,210), with additional storage and 5G connection adding to the price. The Wi-Fi-only Tab S8 Plus might cost between 880€ and 900€ ($1,004 and $1,027), while the regular Tab S8 could cost between 680€ and 700€ ($776 and $799).
Samsung is expected to unveil its Galaxy Tab S8 lineup either at its Samsung Unpacked event on February 8th (possibly alongside the Samsung Galaxy S22) or at the Mobile World Conference (MWC), which starts on February 28th. Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S7 series, which consists of only two tablets: the Tab S7 and Tab S7 Plus, was last introduced in 2020.
